Jill Biden, the first lady, and President Joe Biden landed in Nevada late on Friday.
The first pair is staying in a private residence on Lake Tahoe, a sizable alpine lake that borders Nevada and California and is popular with tourists, especially in the winter because of its ski resorts.
The president travelled there by plane after hosting a summit with the leaders of South Korea and Japan on Friday at Camp David.
