Following a debate over racism, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated on Wednesday that he accepted the Conservative Party’s top donor’s apologies. However, a minister hinted that the party would accept more money from him in the future.
Frank Hester, who has donated 10 million pounds ($12.8 million) to the Conservatives in the past year, has apologised after the Guardian newspaper revealed that he stated the nation’s longest-serving Black lawmaker “should be shot” and that he “want to hate all Black women” after seeing her.
Hester added that while the remarks made against Diane Abbott in 2019 were hurtful, they had nothing to do with her gender or the colour of her skin.
