Meet Tania Sher Gill, woman officer who led Army Day parade for the first time
A woman officer became the Parade Adjutant for the first time in the history of the Army Day parade where the Army showcased its military might and some of its state-of-the-art assets.
Captain Tania Sher Gill led the all-men contingents at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantt during the parade. Army Chief Gen M M Naravane, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat were present on the occasion.
A fourth generation soldier, Captain Sher Gill was commissioned into the Corps of Signals two years ago. The parade adjutant plays an important role in directing and conducting the parade.
