Hardik Pandya of Team India became the 27th cricketer to captain the country in One-day Internationals, joining an illustrious list of players who have done so. Hardik stepped in for Rohit Sharma, who is unavailable for the series opener against Australia in Mumbai on Friday, March 17 due to personal obligations. Hardik said it was an honour to lead the country, joining an illustrious list that includes MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Mohammed Azharuddin, and Sunil Gavaskar.
