On August 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Pune, Maharashtra, where he will lay the cornerstone for a number of construction initiatives.
The Prime Minister will receive the Lokmanya Tilak National Award later, according to the announcement.
To memorialise Lokmanya Tilak’s legacy, the Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust established the Award in 1983. The honour is granted to those who have contributed to the nation’s prosperity and development and whose work can only be described as amazing and extraordinary. Every year on August 1st, the anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak’s passing, it is presented.
