Xi Jinping Said China’s Economy Is Resistant at the BRICS Summit

To attend the three-day BRICS conference that starts today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in South Africa on Tuesday evening. The trip coincides with rumours of a potential bilateral meeting with Xi Jinping of China, which has not yet been confirmed.Xi Jinping, the leader of China, said in a speech to the BRICS group on Tuesday that the country’s economy was resilient and that the underlying principles for its long-term prosperity were unchanging.
Xi made the comments in a prepared statement that was read aloud at a business roundtable by Wang Wentao, China’s minister of commerce. Xi is in South Africa for the BRICS meeting.

Through Wang, Xi asserted that “the Chinese economy has strong resilience, enormous potential, and great vitality.”
