Every year on September 15, India celebrates Engineers’ Day to honour M. Visvesvaraya’s birthday and commemorate his contributions to science and technology. His full name is Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, however he is most commonly referred to as M Visvesvaraya. On September 15, engineers are also honoured in Tanzania and Sri Lanka.
