The World’s Intellectual Concepts Remain Mostly “Western”: S. Jaishankar

In order to create international relations with Indian characteristics, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar emphasised the importance of bolstering Indian strategic culture and investing more energy in indigenous knowledge and traditions. He noted that the world is still largely ‘Western’ in terms of its intellectual concepts, traditions, and construct.
Speaking here at the Symbiosis Institute in Pune on the subject of “India’s Strategic Culture: Addressing Global and Regional Challenges,” Mr. Jaishankar asked, “Is it not necessary that we actually devote more time, attention, and energies to look at our reservoir of culture, knowledge, history, and traditions?”
