CBI arrests sacked Income Tax Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Srivastava
NEW DELHI: The CBI on Tuesday, arrested retired Income Tax Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Srivastava who was booked by the agency this July. Srivastava was sacked by the government earlier this year on charges of passing backdated appeal orders to obtain undue benefits as Commissioner of IT (Appeals) in Noida.
It is alleged that Srivastava as Commissioner, Income Tax (Appeals), Noida passed 104 backdated orders in June, 2019 — the month he was given forced retirement by the government.
