Sachin Tendulkar’s historic record for the most ODI hundreds is broken by Virat Kohli.

In India’s World Cup semi-final match against New Zealand in Mumbai, Kohli scored his 50th ODI century.He smashed eight fours and one six on his route to three figures, reaching this milestone off Lockie Ferguson’s bowling in the 42nd over.

With this knockout stage century, he achieved a first for himself in the Cricket World Cup, surpassing Tendulkar’s record for the most runs in a single edition of the competition.After scoring hundreds of runs in the first two games of the competition against South Africa and Bangladesh, this was Kohli’s third century of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. He scored a century against Bangladesh during a victorious chase in Pune.
