In response to Bulgarian Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel’s statement that the Indian Navy should be thanked for its successful anti-piracy operation in the Arabian Sea that resulted in the rescue of seven Bulgarian nationals, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that this is precisely what friends are for.
Mr. Jaishankar wrote, “That’s what friends are for” in a post on X.The Indian Navy’s effective execution of a rescue operation to reclaim control of a hijacked merchant vessel and its 17 crew members—seven of whom were Bulgarian nationals—was acknowledged by the foreign minister of Bulgaria on Sunday.
