UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who is now attending the G20 conference in India, identified as a proud Hindu and said he has always felt a great connection to that country.
‘My wife is Indian, and as a proud Hindu, I will always have a connection to India and people of India,’ he said, adding, ‘I am tremendously proud of my Indian roots and my connections to India.’
The G20 presidency is being held by the “right country” at the “right time,” he continued, praising Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Due to India’s size, diversity, and outstanding achievements, it is the appropriate nation at the right moment to preside over the G20. I praise Prime Minister Modi for his leadership in the past year.
