After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut was reportedly slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at Chandigarh airport, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut sympathised with her, saying that while an MP should not be abused, farmers should also be respected. Ms Ranaut was smacked by a CISF official on her way to Delhi on Thursday. The event occurred amid an alleged altercation over a farmers’ demonstration against agricultural restrictions (which have since been repealed) and other problems. The official was suspended later that day.
