Peru’s 35-year-old finance minister Maria Antonieta Alva is a Covid-19 ‘hero’
Everybody calls her Toni. Moms take selfies of her with their kids, and road vendors drive arm bands into her hand as presents. Craftsmen sketch her picture and post them to online life. Telecom companies strive for meetings and run profiles asking, “Who is Maria Antonieta Alva?”
The appropriate response: She’s the 35-year-old fund pastor of Peru directing a goal-oriented recuperation bundle during a staggering pandemic, and she is winning commendation for its liberality to independent companies and conventional residents.
