Mahmoud Abbas, the president of Palestine and head of the Palestinian Authority, travelled to Saudi Arabia on Monday.
Two Jordanian helicopters landed in Ramallah on Sunday to transport Abbas to Jordan and then Saudi Arabia, where he would meet with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud on Tuesday.
According to reports, Abbas is flying alongside Majed Faraj, the head of the Palestinian General Intelligence Service, and Hussein al-Sheikh, the secretary of the PLO Executive Committee.
During the month-long Muslim holiday of Ramadan, Abbas will also partake in the Iftar meal, which is served every day at sunset.The president of Palestine is scheduled to return to Ramallah on Wednesday.
