According to state media on Saturday, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un openly drove an automobile that Russian President Vladimir Putin had given him as “clear proof” of the two nations’ growing affinity.
Since Kim and Putin met in September in Russia and agreed to strengthen military ties, Pyongyang and Moscow have developed closer ties. They refute claims made by the West that North Korea is providing Russia with missiles and artillery ammunition for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
Kim Yo Jong, the leader’s sister, stated that Kim’s Friday ride in the Russian Aurus limousine is “clear proof of the DPRK-Russia friendship, which is developing in a comprehensive way on a new high stage,” according to state media KCNA, which used North Korea’s official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
