Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon and Blue Origin, envisions a day in which millions, if not a trillion, people live around the solar system in enormous, rotating space stations rather than on planets. During a December 14 discussion with podcaster and computer scientist Lex Fridman, Mr. Bezos stated that he thought our solar system had the resources to support such a massive civilization.
According to Forbes, Mr. Bezos expressed his desire to witness “a trillion humans living in the solar system.” Considering that number of individuals, Mr. Bezos continued, we would always have “1,000 Mozarts and 1,000 Einsteins” and the solar system would always be “full of life, intelligence, and energy.”
