The NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite will be launched into a near-polar Earth orbit in 2024 from India’s southeastern coast using the Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark-II rocket. For the launch, the satellite’s science payload will be integrated with its body. NISAR, the most advanced radar system ever deployed on a NASA science mission, is being launched by ISRO.

This satellite will survey nearly all of Earth’s land and ice surfaces twice every 12 days. It will accurately measure movements.
