We are eager to celebrate the festival of colours with friends and family as it approaches. Hindus celebrate Choti Holi, also known as Holika Dahan, one day prior to Holi, another holy occasion. This year, on Sunday, March 24, Choti Holi is celebrated with great fanfare and merriment. A bonfire is lighted to represent the victory of right over wrong. In Hindu mythology, the demon Holika was said to have burned to nothing on this day when Prahlad, a devotee of Lord Vishnu, pleaded with God to deliver him from the fires of Holika, the sister of the demon king Hiranyakashipu.
