A flurry of political responses have been created by the official invitation to foreign leaders attending the G20 summit using the title “President of Bharat” instead of the customary “President of India.” The BJP has questioned why some parties “object to every issue related to the honour and pride of the country” while opposition politicians have criticised the action and linked it to their 28-party alliance going by the name of INDIA.
Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the AAP, expressed one of the harshest reactions to the invitation’s language when he questioned whether the government would rename the nation to “BJP” if the opposition alliance chose the name “Bharat.”
