Anand Mahindra hopes Gaganyaan Mission astronauts will inspire a ‘new generation of Indians’

As India prepares for its first-ever crewed space mission, Gaganyaan, industrialist Anand Mahindra has praised the four astronauts who will travel into space. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the names of the selected candidates at Kerala’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.

Following the announcement, Anand Mahindra made a message on X (formerly Twitter) with a photo of the Indian astronauts, who have previously worked as test pilots and are currently training for the Gaganyaan expedition. “India announces four Indian astronauts for the Gaganyaan expedition to space. I grew up viewing only photographs of American astronauts and Russian cosmonauts,” the billionaire added.
