New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah claimed in a post on X today that India will fence its entire 1,643-kilometer border with Myanmar and establish a patrolling track alongside it.
The statement comes amid ethnic conflict in Manipur between the hill-majority Kuki-Zo tribes, who have ethnic ties to people in Myanmar’s Chin State, and the valley-majority Meiteis.
“The Modi government is determined to create impregnable borders. It has planned to build a fence along the whole 1,643-kilometre Indo-Myanmar border. PM Modi also stated that a patrol route along the border will be paved to improve surveillance.
