The Biden-Harris Administration launched today a cybersecurity certification and labelling programme to make it easier for Americans to choose smart gadgets that are safer and less vulnerable to intrusions. The new “U.S. Cyber Trust Mark” programme proposed by FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel would raise the bar for cybersecurity across common devices such as smart refrigerators, smart microwaves, smart televisions, smart climate control systems, smart fitness trackers, and others. This is the latest example of President Biden’s commitment on behalf of hardworking families, ranging from cracking down on hidden trash fees to enhancing cyber security and preserving people’s privacy in their own homes.
