Actor Mukesh Khanna, renowned for playing Bhishma in the television series Mahabharat and Shaktiman in the namesake series, is not thrilled with the movie.Mukesh Khanna expressed concern that the creators of Kalki 2898 AD are attempting to modify mythology. He wondered whether they assumed to know more than Vyas muni. He described in detail how Ashwatthama’s jewel was plucked from his forehead, demonstrating how Kalki 2898 AD got it incorrect. According to Khanna, the creators of Kalki 2898 AD took unacceptable artistic liberties. He proposed that the government form a commission to investigate films based on the Ramayana, Mahabharat, or other legendary themes, and even seize control of screenplays if necessary.
