As the allies of Kyiv grow weary of the conflict almost two years in, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that there was no end in sight to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, while the Kremlin expressed growing confidence in its victory.
Zelensky claimed that he had rejected the military’s request to mobilise up to 500,000 Ukrainians for the army, saying that this move would negatively impact his already declining popularity among Ukrainians.
His meeting with foreign and local media brings an end to a trying year in Ukraine, where allies’ financial and military support has wavered and Kyiv’s forces are under pressure on the front lines.
