On Thursday, the Kremlin stated that peace negotiations between Ukraine and Switzerland scheduled for June would make “no sense” if Russia was not involved. The process of (peace) talks without Russia makes no sense, as we have repeatedly stated,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
Any action on Ukraine that “ignores Russia’s position,” according to spokesperson Maria Zakharova of the Russian foreign ministry, is “detached from reality” and has “no perspective.”
She also condemned President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “peace formula,” which asks for Moscow to pay reparations, Russian soldiers to leave Ukrainian territory, and the establishment of a special court to try Russian leaders.
