On Wednesday, Smriti Irani called Rahul Gandhi a sexist and said the House had never seen such a “indecent act” after he gave a flying kiss in the Lok Sabha.
Later, BJP women MPs requested “stringent action” against Gandhi when they met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
The Congress member allegedly made the “inappropriate gesture” towards Irani while speaking in the House during the discussion of the no-confidence motion against the government, according to a complaint signed by more than 20 female lawmakers.
“The speaker before me made an inappropriate gesture. Only a sexist guy can give a flying kiss to Parliament, which houses female members of Parliament. Such an indecent act has not been witnessed by the House.
