Sandhya Arghya is the third day of the Chhath Puja to offer prayers to the setting sun

At the ghat, Sandhya Arghya is offered with the Soops and bamboo baskets full of Prasad to the Sun God and Chhathi Maiyya. Other important rituals carried out on the auspicious day of Sandhya Arghya include presenting flowers on the banks of rivers, performing folk melodies during puja, and bathing in holy water. The festival’s objectives are to offer gratitude for all of life’s benefits, to pray for the health and prosperity of family members, and to invoke the blessings of the Sun God and his consort Usha. Thekua, a prasad prepared with wheat, sugar, or jaggery, is regarded as the most significant dish served during Chhath Puja.
