According to a poll released , only 15% of Israelis support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to crush Hamas operatives in the Palestinian enclave, even though many more still want him to remain in office after the war in Gaza concludes.
Following Hamas’s October 7th rampage in southern Israel, which resulted in 1,200 deaths and 240 kidnappings to Gaza, Netanyahu vowed to destroy the organisation. A large portion of Gaza has been destroyed by Israeli forces during their nearly three-month-long counteroffensive.
Following the release of approximately 100 hostages in late November as part of a swap agreement that also included hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, Netanyahu has stated that maintaining this level of military pressure is essential to guaranteeing the return of the remaining 129 hostages detained in Gaza.
