Regaining support from the BJP, Chirag Paswan met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar , his longstanding political opponent. After more than three years, the public encounter was considered as a kind of icebreaker, casting optimism for improved ally relations.
The meeting was arranged, according to reports, by the Chief Minister’s close aide Sanjay Jha and two important BJP figures, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Health Minister Mangal Pandey, following the BJP’s open embrace of Mr Paswan.
The 30-minute discussion, which was held at Mr. Kumar’s official Patna residence, was mostly focused on improving relationships at work but it was also largely about optics.
