June 21 Became Known As International Yoga Day

Modi will lead the tenth annual International Yoga Day festivities in Srinagar on June 21. Modi has taken the lead in preaching the virtues and benefits of yoga, lending the weight of his office to its widespread adoption. Although yoga has long been regarded as India’s greatest contribution to the worldwide culture of wellness, the United Nations’ formal recognition came following Modi’s appeal in 2014. United Nations Recognition June 21 is International Yoga Day, which is observed across the world. Every year, a topic for this day is announced; this year’s subject is “Yoga for Self and Society”. Last year, Prime Minister Modi led the celebrations in New York with the theme “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — One Earth One Family”.
