John Wright appointed Derbyshire president
John Wright, the former New Zealand batsman, has been appointed president of the Derbyshire cricket club, the county announced on Wednesday (April 8). Wright replaces Harold Rhodes, who served as president over the past year.
Wright, who has captained New Zealand in 14 Tests and 31 ODIs, is also an experienced coach at both international and domestic levels – having been the head coach of the Indian team in early 2000s. He has also served as the head coach of the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, and has been an integral part of their setup.
