During their bilateral discussion on the sidelines of the G20 summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited US President Joe Biden to be the Chief Guest for the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti said on Wednesday.
When asked if the Quad summit was scheduled to take place in India at the same time, Mr. Garcetti said he was not aware of it. India, the US, Japan, and Australia make up the Quad. The annual Quad summit will be held in India the following year.
At a gathering, the US ambassador was questioned about rumours that India was thinking about inviting the presidents of the Quad countries to the Republic Day celebrations.
