A fight broke out in Midnapore town when some people threw stones at actor-turned-BJP politician Mithun Chakraborty’s roadshow, according to police. The Trinamool Congress activists are accused by BJP candidate Agnimitra Paul of throwing glass bottles and stones at the parade, while the ruling party in the state has refuted this accusation. Agnimitra Paul is running for the Lok Sabha seat in Midnapore on May 25. Agnimitra Paul and Mithun Chakraborty were uninjured in the event. Hundreds of BJP supporters were chanting slogans as the roadshow moved towards Keranitola. Mithun Chakraborty and Agnimitra Paul were standing next to him, waving to the audience from a car. According to a police official, after some bystanders threw stones and bottles at the parade, BJP members surged at them and a fight broke out.
