Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram criticised the BJP-led government after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the 2024-25 Budget in the Lok Sabha. Chidambaram said that the administration drew inspiration from the Congress manifesto, citing specific pages where he thought ideas were copied. “I am glad Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman could read the Congress platform. “And she chose the good ideas from pages 11, 30, and 31,” Chidambaram said.He sarcastically asked Treasury members to look more into the Congress manifesto, implying that additional ideas may be beneficially embraced.
