Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded to US President Joe Biden’s comments urging Israel to abandon controversial judicial reforms that have sparked protests and political turmoil in the country. Netanyahu stated that Israel is a sovereign country that bases its decisions on the will of its people rather than external pressures, including from the United States, which he described as “the best of friends.”

 Orlando Bloom, a Hollywood actor, visited Ukraine earlier this weekend as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. The 46-year-old Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean star paid a visit to Kyiv’s UNICEF-supported Spilno Children’s Center. Across its 180 centres, the organisation provides assistance to children who have been displaced by war or are victims of domestic violence, as well as other vulnerable groups.

Following the decision, tens of thousands of protesters blocked a Tel Aviv motorway, while police clashed with crowds in front of Netanyahu’s Jerusalem residence.

Former US ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul said on Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin disregarded Chinese President Xi Jinping by stationing nuclear weapons in Belarus despite their agreement not to deploy nuclear weapons beyond their national borders.

In an interview with the Russian propaganda news agency RIA Novosti, Putin stated, “The instigators intend to send 420 or 440 tanks to Ukraine, as well as ammunition.” During this time, we will build new ones and update over 1,600 existing ones.” According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia plans to manufacture and modernise approximately 1,600 tanks over the next three years.

According to Afghanistan-based TOLO News, US President Joe Biden has stated that Washington stands with women facing violence in Iran and Afghanistan.Biden made the comments during a White House speech commemorating Women’s History Month. “We stand in solidarity with women facing violence in Iran and Afghanistan… “The budget I proposed two weeks ago includes over three billion dollars, a record amount, to advance general quality globally, not just at home,” he said, according to TOLO News. This comes as the United States’ Deputy Foreign Minister, Wendy R. Sherman, has also urged Kabul to grant women and girls their basic rights.
