On Wednesday, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav accused the Uttar Pradesh government of incompetence and failure to make adequate provisions for the deaths caused by a stampede at a ‘Satsang’ event in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district. On Tuesday, a stampede during a religious festival hosted by self-styled godman Narayan Sakar Hari, also known as “Bhole Baba,” in Fulrai hamlet in Hathras killed at least 121 people and wounded hundreds more.The Uttar Pradesh government and administration bear full responsibility for this occurrence. The loss of lives in this catastrophe was caused by the government’s incompetence,” Yadav told ANI.
