Buddha Purnima’s Significance

Buddha Purnima is regarded as an auspicious day. This is supposed to be the day Gautama Buddha acquired enlightenment. Other names for the holiday include Buddha Jayanti, Vesak, and Vaishaka. According to northern Indian religions, Lord Buddha is the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the ninth incarnation of Lord Krishna. However, in the southern areas, Buddha is not considered an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Furthermore, Buddhists do not view Buddha as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is a day to concentrate on Buddhism’s three basic teachings: peace, compassion, and enlightenment. This historic occasion presents a chance to promote cooperation and peace. Buddha Purnima is celebrated with activities commemorating Lord Buddha’s life and teachings.
