Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again used his clothing to turn a national ceremonial event into a breathtaking visual representation of India’s rich cultural legacy on the 76th Republic Day. The prime minister donned a Bandhej “safa,” or turban, with a long, gracefully flowing tail that matched the turban’s vivid red and yellow tones. A white kurta-pyjama served as the ensemble’s focal point and a simple, timeless base. A brown bandh gala jacket with a fitted design and a colourful pocket square that provided a splash of colourful contrast finished the ensemble.
