Following the Palestinian group’s’shock and awe’ strikes last week, Israel has escalated its offensive against Hamas in Gaza. As the battle enters its fifth day, almost 3,000 people have perished. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai supported the appeal for a “immediate ceasefire” on social media. She went on to say that children suffer the most during wars, and she is saddened for all those who are wishing for peace and justice in the combat zone.
“As I have processed the tragic news of the past days, I think of the Palestinian and Israeli children caught in the middle,” the Nobel winner said.
