Manoj Kumar, a veteran Indian actor, died on April 4. He was 87. According to accounts, he died in Mumbai from heart-related issues. He was termed “Bharat Kumar” because his films were nationalistic, with a focus on togetherness and national pride. The legendary actor, who made his debut in the 1950s, received countless accolades, including India’s top cinematic distinction, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1992. He is most known for his patriotic-themed films Upkar (1967), Purab Aur Paschim (1970), and Kranti (1981), among others.
