Former US President Donald Trump was ordered Friday to pay nearly $400,000 in legal fees to the New York Times and several journalists after his lawsuit against them was dismissed.
In September 2021, Trump filed a complaint against the newspaper, accusing three journalists of engaging in a “insidious plot” to obtain his tax documents as part of an investigative report published in 2018 and later awarded a Pulitzer Prize.
In May 2023, a judge in the commercial division of the New York State Supreme Court dismissed the case, ordering Trump, who is running for president again this year, to pay the defendants’ costs.
