Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Sunday that he is “not ready” for discussions with Russia until its forces leave the country, rejecting that Western officials have recommended beginning peace talks.
He was responding to news that US and European officials had spoken with his administration about peace talks, and after a top Ukrainian commander declared the fight stalled.
“(The United States) understand that I am not prepared to speak with terrorists because their word is worthless,” Zelensky stated on NBC’s Meet the Press.
