Today, the country commemorates Martyrs’ Day 2024. The death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is January 30. On January 30, 1948, he was shot and assassinated by Hindu nationalist Nathuram Godse while on his way to address an evening prayer congregation at Birla Bhavan in Delhi.
Mahatma Gandhi is regarded as the ‘Father of the Nation’. He led India’s liberation movement and advocated for nonviolent and peaceful resistance to British authority.
