Sushil Modi, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, dies at 72

Sushil Kumar Modi Monday evening, at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi. The 72-year-old was battling cancer and had been confined to AIIMS’s intensive care unit for the last month. The veteran politician, who was once the BJP’s most well-known face in Bihar, has also withdrawn from the upcoming Lok Sabha elections due to health concerns. On April 3, he disclosed it via social media, posting on X, previously Twitter. “I’ve been battling cancer for the past six months. Now I believe the moment has arrived to notify folks. I shall not be able to participate in the Lok Sabha elections. Shankar Prasad. “I am devastated by the death of our senior leader, Sushil Kumar Modi ji. Today, Bihar has lost a great political pioneer forever. His politics were centred on the concerns of the poor and backward. The gap left in Bihar politics by his death will not be replaced for a long time. In this hour of mourning, the whole BJP stands behind his grieving family. May God offer the departing soul a seat at his lotus feet.
