The Election Commission has cautioned Congressman Shashi Tharoor against making “unverified allegations” in the future after determining that his remarks against Rajeev Chandrasekhar of the BJP in a TV appearance were unjustified and against the Model Code of Conduct.
The Election Commission (EC) issued a “strict warning” in response to complaints from the Election Legal Convener of the BJP and the Election Committee Convener of the NDA. They claimed that Mr. Tharoor had made baseless charges against Mr. Chandrasekhar during an interview.
