Actress Raveena Tandon has been rather outspoken about her experience in the film business. She recently astounded both viewers and critics with her performance in the judicial drama Patna Shuklla. She discussed the salary gap that existed in the 1990s between male and female Bollywood actresses in a recent conversation with Jist. The actress said, “Actresses didn’t have a lot of money back then. The money back then was quite low, particularly the difference in compensation between performers and actresses. Male celebrities received a lot more. I could probably create fifteen films instead of the one they would make in one. I can’t generalize this; I can’t speak for everyone. In order to earn the same money as my male colleagues, I had to work on around 15–20 films.
