Maa Kalaratri is revered on the seventh day of Shardiya Navratri. She is one of Maa Durga’s nine incarnations and is regarded as the deadliest and most vicious version of Goddess Parvati. It is claimed that Maa Parvati became known as Maa Kalaratri after removing her golden skin to slay demons.The planet Shani is governed by the Goddess Kalaratri. She is also known as the Goddess Shubhankari. Her name is composed of two words: Kala, which denotes death, and Ratri, which represents darkness. Thus, Kalaratri is responsible for the ‘death of darkness’.
