Sitharaman stated that the two nations India and Japan continue to cooperate in the fields of food security, disaster risk reduction, development finance, environment, digitalization, and climate and energy. According to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, India and Japan can cooperate to improve coordination and synergy between G7 and G20 member nations.
The G20 countries are currently led by India, whereas the G7 nations are currently led by Japan.
Sitharaman stated that she is debating going to the G7 conference of finance ministers and governors of central banks scheduled for May after receiving an invitation from Japan.
Since Japan is the president of the G7, we are examining all potential areas of cooperation, so we are looking forward to more interaction with the Japanese administration.
