Manmohan Singh, Former Prime Minister Who Spearheaded India’s Economic Reforms, Passes Away At Age 92

Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister and a Congress stalwart, died on Thursday, aged 92. Singh died at AIIMS Delhi, where he was hospitalised on Thursday evening.Singh was sworn in as Prime Minister on May 22 following the 2004 general elections, and he took the oath of office again on May 22, 2009. He was born on September 26, 1932, in a hamlet in Punjab, an undivided Indian region. He finished his matriculation exams at Punjab University in 1948. The Union government set a seven-day national mourning period for the former Prime Minister.
